USA Environmental, Inc. (USAE) is seeking a GIS Analyst/Data Manager for its Vieques, Puerto Rico office. This individual will be in charge of producing maps, managing GIS and tabular data, maintaining GPS equipment, and training personnel on various GPS equipment.  USAE will train the successful applicant in any additional skills needed for this position. The GIS Analyst/Data Manager will report to the GIS Manager in USAE’s FL Corporate office, but will take day to day assignments from the Site Manager in Vieques.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Edit and manipulate GIS data for map production and analysis.
  • Create maps for field teams, and project management.
  • Become familiar with field data collection tablets, including use of ESRI’s Survey123 data collection application.
  • Perform quality control and corrections to project database.
  • Assist with data entry for daily field reports.
  • Coordinate with contractor that maintains Vieques project database.
  • Maintain GPS units used on site- including training field personnel on use and care.
  • Assist with administrative tasks when other employees are out of the office.
  • When needed, assist with logistics shipping equipment or transporting goods and vehicles to and from the main island of Puerto Rico.

Position Requirements are as follow:

  • Degree in GIS, Geography, Earth/Environmental Science or related field with 1-3 years of experience. GIS certificate or experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software products (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolBox. Knowledge of ArcGIS Online and data collection apps is a plus).
  • Strong database skills in both the GIS and Microsoft environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of land survey techniques and Trimble GPS systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work with site management and field personnel.
  • Excellent organization skills including data management.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
